The Seido Way...

Karate is not only great exercise, but also an excellent way for you to learn self-defense, build endurance, improve concentration and increase your self-confidence. We can give you all that and more. At Adirondack Seido Karate our goal is for every student to become a stronger and more disciplined person. We are affiliated with the World Seido Karate Organization under the direction and guidance of Grand Master Kaicho T. Nakamura (Founder & Chairman) and Nidaime Akira Nakamura (Vice Chairman).  The World Seido Karate organization has dojos all across the U.S. and throughout the world.

Seido Karate is dedicated to building and maintaining an organization of the highest standards. It seeks to develop individuals of strong body and mind, and its members must maintain a high standard of martial arts expertise and strong moral character. Seido Karate seeks to unify the spiritual and physical aspects of the student so as to develop a more integrated, capable individual.

Seido aims not only to develop students with the highest level of physical skills. It also strives to cultivate individuals of the highest moral character who can then make significant contributions to their family life, the workplace, and to society at large.

Seido seeks to develop in each student a 'non-quitting' spirit. No matter what the obstacle or difficulty -- emotional, physical, financial -- we want students to feel that, though they may be set back, they will never be overcome by any of these problems. The sincere practice of karate can impress this idea into the spirit. This is the modern interpretation of the bushido spirit of the samurai.
